Phil Dawson (フィル・ドーソン) は、アメリカ・ウィスコンシン州マディソンを拠点に、ESPN、FOX Sports、Turner Sports、ウィスコンシン大学などでスポーツメディアに携わってきました。
日本人の妻との出会いをきっかけに何度も日本を訪れる中で、日本のクラフトビール文化に魅了され、その歴史や市場、そして地域に根付く醸造文化について深く学び始めます。やがて全国各地のブルワーや業界関係者との交流を重ね、日本のクラフトビール業界との幅広いネットワークを築いてきました。
また、Madison College にて Craft Brewing and Fermentation Science（クラフトブルーイング・発酵科学） を修了し、醸造に関する専門知識を習得しています。
現在は宮城県仙台市に妻と二人の子どもとともに暮らし、Great Dane Brewingでは経営・ブランド戦略・営業・生産管理を統括するとともに、Rob LoBreglioとともに醸造にも携わっています。さらに、流通網の拡大や地域との連携を推進し、Great Dane Brewingの持続的な成長とブランド価値の向上に取り組んでいます。
Phil Dawson is a former sports media personality in Madison, WI, with credits working for ESPN, FOX Sports, Turner Sports, The University of Wisconsin, and others. He turned his attention toward craft beer in Japan after many visits with his Japanese wife. He directed his passion towards understanding the history, market trends and culture of craft beer in Japan, eventually curating relationships with many of the people in the micro-brewing industry there. He is certified in Craft Brewing and Fermentation Science through Madison College. Mr. Dawson currently resides in Sendai, and in addition to duties as assistant brewer to Mr. LoBreglio, he will be intricately involved in GDBKK’s relationships with wholesale accounts, expanding distribution, and managing community involvement.
